RULES

Waiver of claims:

Players participating in any P1PICKLEBALL Leagues acknowledge and understand the risks associated with playing competitive pickleball, accept those risks voluntarily, and, in consideration of their acceptance, registration and participation in any P1PICKLEBALL event, league or sponsored event assume all risks for bodily injury, waive all claims for injury and property damage, and release and hold harmless P1PICKLEBALL, LLC, all employees and directors, owners of P1PICKLEBALL,LLC as well as the host facility, their officials, employees, and agents with respect to any injury or loss caused by negligence or otherwise to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Individual/Team Playing Level

We encourage all players to select a level that offers good, competitive matches. The final determination of level placement will be made by the P1PICKLEBALL League Administrator using the following criteria:

  • Requested Level
  • Player DUPR Rating
  • P1PICKLEBALL Player History
  • Division Scheduling Needs

P1PICKLEBALL uses the DUPR Rating system to determine play levels for Leagues. To see more information about the NTRP rating system, please visit https://mydupr.com/

a. If you have not played P1PICKLEBALL before and have a current DUPR rating, then register at the level shown on your DUPR account.

b. Singles Leagues: Register with your P1PICKLEBALL rating (if you have one) or your DUPR rating.

c. Doubles Leagues: P1PICKLEBALL offers you the ability to play Doubles and Mixed Doubles with a partner of different skill level. Both partners’ skill levels are matched to produce a “team playing level” based on the tables below. If one or both players have played P1PICKLEBALL before (doubles or singles), your level choice(s) will be determined during registration. If neither player has played P1PICKLEBALL before, use the tables below to determine your P1PICKLEBALL “team playing level”. First, find your level on the left side of the table below (Player A). Next, find your partner’s level on the top of the table (Player B).

The intersection of the two levels will be your P1PICKLEBALL “team playing level”. Finally, register your team at the level where the players’ levels intersect

a. P1PICKLEBALL discourages teams with partners more than two full playing levels apart (i.e. A team of a 3.0 player and a 4.5 player).

2. Scheduling

The home team is responsible for having courts and balls available for the scheduled matches. If for any reason, the home team does not have courts or balls available and the two teams cannot come to a resolution, the visiting team wins by default. Teams have two weeks to schedule and play each match. The deadline date for each match is listed on your schedule. Scores for each match must be posted by 11:59PM EST on the deadline date.

Each team will have one Late Pass for the season which they can use to schedule/report any match past the deadline date. The late pass can be used by a team for any reason as long as their opponents agree to play the match past their scheduled deadline date. The late pass may not be used for the last match of the season. All matches must be completed by the deadline date of the last match of the season.

3. Scoring

All matches are best 2 of 3 games to 15 points each (win by 2). If the score for a game gets to 14-14, the game shall continue until either team gets a lead by 2 points (ex. 17-15). P1PICKLEBALL follow the rules contained within the USA Pickleball Official Rulebook. For any rule clarifications, players can refer to the USA Pickleball Official Rulebook.

4. Reporting Scores

Once the match has been completed, players from the winning team must report their score on the P1PICKLEBALL website.

The match winners receive 4 points for the match – one point for each game they win and 2 bonus points for winning the match. If the losing team/player wins one game out of the 3 games in the set, 1 point will be awarded to the losing team.

5. Division Winners

Teams can view their standings at any time on the Division Standings tab. Division Winners are determined by the team with the most points. If there is a tie, the team with the highest point differential (i.e. points they scored minus points scored against them) will be the division winner.

All Division Winners will receive bag tags.

6. Playoffs

All teams with 12 or more points will move onto the playoffs
